New York to me is the epitome of a sophisticated, independent-minded cosmopolitan city. How the architecture soars up the dramatic skyline just impresses one with how one has to produce at a higher standard to make it in the Big Apple.

I entered the city with all my ideals, as well as credentials, to back me up, and my aspirations to lift me on higher ground. I got caught up in the city’s momentary excitement as well as its demands until it brought me to the brink of myself and to the real search for a reason for this life that extends beyond the material.

I had grown up in a Christian family and had entered a personal relationship with God during my early years in high school. However, I didn't really grow in a community of believers. After just two months of living in New York City, I was invited to go to MSNY’s very first service. Taking part and sharing with the mission of a congregation that envisions reaching out to the nation of our generation has been the pivotal point in my journey. Morning Star had kept me in good shape to enter the race, has coached me to win and lead, has placed me in a solid team, and has trained me to help others on the same journey. Now I walk the streets of Manhattan having peace and faith and an extraordinary excitement that God has a purpose, a destiny and a plan for me. No longer do I walk alone but God gave me a family who genuinely cares that I walk out the victorious life that God had in store for me all along.
