Before graduating from college in 2002, I remember praying a simple prayer: "Lord, send me where you want me to go!" I was shocked when I was sent to teach in New York City for 2 years as a part of a well-known teaching corps. At first I cried, and then I hesitated, but I knew this was where he wanted me to be.

When I first came to MSNY, I considered myself to be saved, but I didn't know much about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts and spiritual family. To this day, it's amazing how much God has changed my thinking and how exciting it is to be able to know Christ as a friend, father, counselor and everything that I could ever need. The relationships that I've built with my brothers and sisters in the Lord at MSNY have helped me in my Christian walk and it is through these relationships that he has given me a sense of purpose and an understanding of destiny.
